The 2016 EU-US Frontiers of Engineering symposium was hosted by TAF (Technology Academy Finland) on behalf of Euro-CASE from October 17 to 19 in Helsinki, Finland.
The 2016 EU-US Frontiers of Engineering symposium was held October 17-19, at Aalto University near Helsinki, Finland. About 60 outstanding engineers under the age of 45 met for an intensive 2-1/2 day symposium to discuss cutting-edge developments in four areas: The Road to Future Urban Mobility; Frontiers of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage; Integrated Photonics; and Smart Systems for Personalized and Connected Healthcare. The event was intended to facilitate international and cross-disciplinary research collaboration, promote the transfer of new techniques and approaches across disparate engineering fields, and encourage the creation of a transatlantic network of world-class engineers.
During the 2-1/2 days of the symposium, four topics was covered:
- Intelligent Transportation Systems. Includes automated vehicles, logistics & traffic systems, public transport systems, mobile work machines and work sites, robot equipment.
- Information and Computer Technologies for Personal Health. (Would include topics of Smart Health)
- Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage
- Integrated Photonics Manufacturing
