Mission

Our objective is promoting technical sciences, gathering and encouraging co-operation of the scientists of different technical, biotechnical and other professions in order to support efficient scientific and economic development of Croatia without gaining any profit. (Article 1 of the HATZ Statute).

Our missions are

  • To be a leading, creative and innovative multidisciplinary community of scientists in the field of engineering;
  • To be efficient experts and contribute to the development of technical sciences and the transfer of technological knowledge important for the progress of the Croatian economy and the benefit of all people;
  • To advocate safe and appropriate use of technology, to advocate environmental protection and the protection of people against its inappropriate use
  • To promote professionalism and responsible behaviour with regard to highest ethical norms.

Highlights 2016

    • On the occasion of a Cooperation Agreement signature between Zagreb and Ulsan (South Korea) Universities, HATZ organized a Round Table on “The Academia and Shipbuilding Industry Cooperation in South Korea and Croatia”.
    • Fellows, Professors Vilko Ziljak and Klaudio Pap, were laureates of the Grand Prix, distinguished in November at the 65th International Fair INNOVA in Brussels.
    • Along with the Faculty of Civil Engineering Zagreb, HATZ organized several Round Table discussions on “How to Win a Project for Financing within the HORIZON 2020 Program? with examples of successful projects” and, related to the European Union political situation, “The End of EU?”, “Political and Legal Fundaments of Western Europe”, “The European States’ Unification Crisis”.
    • One of the 2016 publications was focused on the European Research Area for growth and innovation in textiles. HATZ publications are distributed to all Euro-CASE Academies.
